HOLISTIC BODY THERAPIES – Bowen Therapy
This technique was developed by Tom Bowen in Geelong, Victoria during the 1950’s, it has been successfully used to treat sport and accident injuries, frozen shoulders, whiplash, neck and head pain, back pain, leg, knee, ankle pain, and respiratory problems.
However you do not need to have a specific problem to enjoy the benefits of Bowen Therapy.
If you are feeling tired, stressed or run down Bowen Therapy can be of as much benefit to you as many other modalities.
The body is a very complex structure that relies on all parts being in balance. When the body is traumatized, physically or emotionally: the energy systems are thrown out of balance and Bowen Therapy can assist in helping the body to re-balance itself.
How is Bowen Therapy done?
Cross fiber moves are made across muscles, tendons and ligaments on specific parts of the body, normalizing and relaxing muscles and the nervous system which encourages the body to begin the healing process. With Bowen Therapy, there is NO forceful manipulation. The precise location of the Bowen moves correlate markedly with the latest research into the meridian energy system, acupoints and myofascial trigger point therapy.
How can Bowen Therapy help me?

This is time well spent, as it is often here that the real problem is identified and allows the therapist to treat the cause of the problem not just the symptom.

A Bowen Therapy treatment session can last from 15 minutes to 50 minutes with the client fully clothed where preferred.
